Hunting for a Venue

Hunting for a venue for an event that has to be open to the public is kind of a big deal. Most venues need a head count to assess space requirements. And without an official head count, it’s hard to know how big a space you need.

Even though this kind of event is a superb PR boon for a venue and would bring in awesome and cool foot traffic, without knowing how much space you need and how many people you’ll have, most venues are slightly perplexed about where and how to place you.

So I’m working on it and in the meantime thanking my lucky stars for several years of experience negotiating with venues and organizing events. Sometimes, an eclectic, diverse skill set really pays off.
